Recommended because...

At the end of "Tao of Rodney" there's a kind of Flowers for Algernon moment wherein Rodney realizes he can't make sense anymore out of the work he did while he was on his way to Ascension. This story takes that idea and runs with it. It's long, plotty, fantastic, believable, heartbreaking, awesome, and happymaking, all rolled into one.

It really is a great story (I couldn't stop reading it when it was initially posted:) And now it's got that foretelling kind of twist of "what if."
