Ronon walked directly to Rodney's room. "You goin' with him?" he asked
bluntly.
"With him? Who? Where?"
"Sheppard. His father died. Heart attack. He's gonna go back to earth
for the ceremony, right? You goin' with him, or should I?"
"Oh my God, his father died? I - I'll go. I'll talk to Carter. Oh my
God. I can't. The kids planet, the kids - I'll talk to Carter."
"You can't go, let me know, I'll go."
"Yes, yes," Rodney said, distracted. "Of course, John, John. He, he'll
need someone there, with him. I'll talk to Carter right now, but -" He
looked up at Ronon. " - be ready."
"I'm always ready."
Rodney smiled. "Yeah, you so are."

Re: Frustrated!
Date: 2008-02-03 05:41 pm (UTC)From:I just took a look at your coding (any user can look at that with the 'edit entries' feature, but they can't actually make any changes if they're not the person who posted) and you have a *lot* of hard coding going on that's messing with the way your entry looks. I think that's where your frustration comes from, yes?
I would go into 'edit entry' and take out everything before Ficlet for a start - that should help. LJ will recognize the hard returns at the end of sentences, so you don't necessarily need to code in breaks. Are you doing the hard coding yourself, or writing in a program that's doing that for you?
We'll figure it out ♥

Date: 2008-02-03 05:59 pm (UTC)From:I mean, if I write a post and put some of it under the LJcut, I don't code the stuff on top (before the LJcut), I just type it in. So why can't I just type in the information about the title, author, episode and type, category, rating, pairing, warning, word count, etc., before the cut, and then put the actual fiction inside the cut! Then that part would show up on the "linked" page. Or I could put the entire Title, author, episode and type, category, etc., stuff, *within* the LJcut, and just put an introductory sentence before the cut....
Why is this so complicated??? Why am I so dumb!??
Thanks again, love, max

Date: 2008-02-03 06:03 pm (UTC)From:It's the two different ways of posting: HTML, where you need to do all the coding; or rich text, where it does it for you. It looks to me that you're using rich text. So, you can take out the HTML and use the rich text editor (which is a lot like the editors on word processors like MSword) to do things like bold and italics.
Any help?

Loved the ficlet. When I was watching it never occurred to me that Rodney asked Ronon to go with Sheppard, but it makes perfect sense.

Date: 2008-02-04 06:18 am (UTC)From:I'm so glad you loved the ficlet! The miracle of writing again after so many years - I'm still stunned! But it was *so* clear to me that Carter was written in the ep as telling John this traumatic news *in public* so that Ronon could pass the info along to team - starting with Rodney, of course! Glad you see the logic of my ficlet!
Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. It means so much to me!
